Communication

While email and SMS messages can be sent from the DRIVN system, there are 2 primary communications features included in the platform; chat messages and “posts” or dispatch messages.

Chat

Chat is the best feature for quick exchanges of pertinent information. It is typically used in fairly informal ways, but you can attach pictures, documents, and other relevant files (PDFs, MP4s, etc)

Most teams will be set up with a few “system” chat channels. The following are most common:

“My activity” – This is a history of all the notifications you have received whether they are new or “updates” to existing posts. You can press on any item and it will open the post so you can see the details.

“Full Team Chat” – Just as it sounds, this is a chat channel intended for all members of the team; coaches, athletes, parents, and whomever else is an active part of the organization.

“Coaches/Players Chat” – Again, as it implies, this channel is designated for coaches and athletes only. Parents and members of any other group will not have access to this channel.

“Players Chat”

“Parents Chat”

NOTE: By default, push notifications for chat group messages are not sent. If you want all members of a chat group to receive notification of your message, you must include @channel somewhere in the message, most likely at the beginning.

EXAMPLE: @channel Practice today has been pushed back 30 minutes from 6:00 to 6:30.
